Abstract

114,483. Hollingworth, A. April 10, 1917. Residual magnetism, destroying.-Consists of a particular construction of demagnetizers for watches &c. of the kind wherein a coil adapted to enclose the watch is connected to a commutator which is kept stationary when a source of alternating current is employed and is rotated when a source of continuous current is employed so as to supply alternating current to the coil. The coil a is connected to the brushes m of this commutator i which has conducting-strips k on its opposite faces connected through the commutator bearings g to terminals c, d adapted to be connected by a plug connector to any house circuits, and a lamp f of suitable voltage is put in the circuit to act as the requisite resistance. The commutator is mounted on short studs h projecting into it, and it is rotated by a handle n.
