Abstract
1,141,157. Reservoir pens. G. F. RIGONDAUD. 31 May, 1966 [9 June, 1965], No. 24281/66. Heading B6P. [Also in Division A4] The nib-section of a cartridge reservoir pen has a flexible ink delivery member 25 of paper or pure cellulosic material such as filter-paper, and an overflow chamber formed from a roll 33 of gauze made of a multi-strand thread of polyamide or polyvinyl chloride. Air enters the reservoir via conduit 13 and the hollow part 34 of the roll. A U-shaped braid 53 inserted into the reservoir piercing part of the pen, feeds ink from the reservoir to the delivery member 25 and the roll 33. In an alternative embodiment, (Figs. 11 and 12), the delivery member 25 does not extend along the full length of the roll, but extends along the lower face 28 of the roll. In a further embodiment, (Figs. 13 and 14), a felt nib replaces the split nib, and the delivery member 25 is dispensed with. Longitudinal grooves along the inner surface of the nib section casing constitute air passages to the reservoir.
