Abstract

1,137,645. Bed rests. D. M. ENRIGHT. 15 June, 1967 [8 July, 1966], No. 30787/66. Heading A4J. A bed headboard A has an inset backrest panel B, which is guided into an inclined position, on hinge-pins b, by arms C and retained thereat, by the ends of stays c lodging against batten A1. A tension spring (d<SP>2</SP>) and a chain (d) extend, respectively, from the pivoted and free ends of a stay c, to a plate (d<SP>1</SP>) fast with a hinge-pin b. On turning the pin b, by means of a handle (D), the free end of the stay c is lifted, by chain (d), to allow spring (d<SP>2</SP>) to retract panel B into the headboard. .
