Abstract

872,493. Spring upholstery. STUBNITZ GREENE CORPORATION. April 7, 1959 [June 2, 1958], No. 11753/59. Class 52(4). In a spring cushion a steel wire spring element 10 bridging frame portions 34, 36 has a relatively straight portion 12 of flattened cross-section and torsion structural parts 14, 16 having oppositely directed U-loops 22, 24 the part 14 resting on frame portion 34 and the part 16 being suspended from frame portion 36. The top border frame 44 of the cushion spring structure is secured to part 14 by a clip 46. In a modification, Fig. 9, a leg part 84 of the spring element 10<SP>11</SP> is supported on ledges 86 formed from frame 36<SP>11</SP> and an L-shaped end portion 82 abuts an extension 90 causing leg 84 to function as a torsion spring bar.
