855,112. Adjustable beds. UNITED STATES BEDDING CO. March 20, 1959 [June 2, 1958], No. 9786/59. Class 52(2) An adjustable bed 10 has a combined housing and frame 12 formed of planks horizontally disposed and on edge to which frame is secured and articulated bed spring 22 comprising a frame 24 and spring system 26, the frame 24 having a central portion 28 and end portions 30, 32 pivotally connected thereto, the portion 32 being also articulated at pivot 38. A power mechanism for effecting adjustment includes a pair of hydraulic cylinders 46 in which slide pistons 48 connected by levers 50 or 52 to ends 30, 32.
