Abstract

879,720. Bed-rests. DUNLOP RUBBER CO. Ltd. June 23, 1958 [July 6, 1957], No. 21473/57. Class 52(2). A back rest 11 for bedsteads is connected to the bedstead frame by members 15 of fixed length pivoted to the frame 12 at 16 and to the rest at 17 and by a movable pivot which, as shown, comprises pins 14 on the frame riding in slots 13 on the rest. The movable pivot may alternatively comprise pivoted telescoping tubes. As shown members 15 are the arms of a U-tube, the central part of which extends across the frame or the rest. In a modification the members 15 are a board pivoted along opposite edges to the rest and frame. A spring 18 or a counterweight may urge the rest to the folded position.
