Abstract

1,132,993. Electrophotographic materials. RANK XEROX Ltd. 2 Dec., 1965 [28 Dec., 1964], No. 51206/65. Heading H1K. [Also in Division C7] A photo-conductive material consists of an amorphous film of an alloy of 0À0001-5% by weight of Tl, balance Se. A xerographic plate may be formed by coating the material, e.g. by vacuum deposition, casting or hot-dipping, on a conductive substrate such as Al, Mg, brass, steel, Cr or on a non-conductive substrate such as glass, paper, plastics sheeting coated with Au, tin oxide or copper iodide. When positively charged, the plate is sensitive to X-rays but insensitive to visible light and when negatively charged, the plate is sensitive to visible light and has a high fatigue value.
