Abstract
930,403. Electrophotographic material. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. Oct. 13, 1959 [Oct. 30, 1958], No. 34729/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 37. [Also in Group XX] An electrophotographic recording element comprises a layer of photoconductive material sandwiched between a conducting layer and an insulating layer and the capacity of the insulating layer per unit area is greater, e.g. by ten times, than that of the photo-conductive layer while the resistance per unit area of the insulator layer is much larger than that of the photoconductive layer. In examples, the photoconductor is cadmium sulphide or cadmium selenide and the insulating layer is polystyrene, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl chloride, or a vinyl acetate-chloride copolymer. The conducting layer may be of glass with a transparent tin chloride or metal coating, or may be opaque. Specific preferred thicknesses of insulating and photoconductive layers are given in the Specification.
