Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce the captioned photoreceptor which is capable of reproducing the bright and dark parts with good electrostatic contrast by forming a photoconductive layer and surface insulation layer on one face side of a conductive member which is made into screen form and forming a potential maintaining layer on the surface side opposite from the above.
CONSTITUTION: A photoconductive layer 17 composed of ZnO, polyvinyl carbazole, etc. is formed on one surface side of a conductive member 16 which is made into screen form of about 100W400 mesh. At this time, the layer 17 is not formed to part of the surface on the side opposite from the abovementioned surface so that the surface of the conductive member 16 is held exposed. Thence, a surface insulation layer 18 composed of polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, etc. is provided thereon and a potential maintaining layer 19 composed of insulation type material is formed on the surface side opposite from the abovementioned side of the conductive material 16, whereby the screen-form photoreceptor 15 is obtained. The electric resistance of the potential maintaining layer 19 is made desirably about 107W1010cm2Ω as the product of the specific volume resistance value of the material used and the film thickness value of the layer 19.
