Abstract

1,129,843. Portable conveyers. AYRSHIRE ELEVATOR CO. Ltd. 29 Sept., 1967 [30 June, 1966], No. 29396/66. Heading B8A. The lower end of the boom 11 of an endless power driven conveyer provided with tines is supported on a circular skid 13 rotatable about a substantially vertical axis. The skid is dished upwardly and does not dig into the ground when the tractor which carries the conveyer is manoeuvred to pick up bales. The boom is adjustable about a vertical axis and also in a vertical plane. The bearing carrying the skid is adjusted in unison with the adjustment of an axle for taking up slack of an endless chain or belt of the conveyer, so that the position of the skid relative to the adjacent end of the conveyer will remain constant.
