A device for delivering measured quantities of liquid, such as fuel oil to a burner, comprises a spring-loaded wall 15 movable in a chamber 18, liquid being admitted into the chamber via an inlet valve 21 and expelled from the chamber via an outlet valve 22 under the action of the compressed spring, control means 25 for the valves operable when the movable wall reaches limiting positions and a counter 38 arranged to record the number of operations of the device. The valves 21, 22 are actuated by solenoids energized via a switch 23. In operation, with the device in the position shown, the switch 23 is operated by a shoulder 26 on a stem 25 connected to the wall 15 thereby opening the inlet valve 21 and closing the outlet valve 22. Liquid then flows into the chamber 18 so as to move the wall against the spring force until a surface 27 on a member 14 operates the switch; the position of the valves is then reversed and the liquid in the chamber is dispensed. The travel of the wall may be adjusted by means of a screwed connection on the stem 25 with the member 14. The counter 38 is actuated by means of the stem 25 via levers 41, 39. The valves may be operated by liquid-pressure instead of by solenoids.
