1,240,718. Valves. H. KUHNKE ELECTROTECHNISCHE FABRIK G.m.b.H. 12 Aug., 1968 [8 Dec., 1967], No. 38515/68. Heading F2V. Timing device for a pneumatic signal comprises a control element movable over a predetermined path, a mechanism energized by the signal for moving the control element, a rotatable speed governor, such as a balance wheel device, coupled to the control element to control the speed of movement of the control element and a valve associated with the control element and communicating with a conduit for the passage of the pneumatic signal, said valve being actuated by the control element when the latter is in a predetermined position. A pneumatic input signal applied through inlet 9 to an actuator 6, 7, releases a clockwork mechanism which after a pre-set time sets up a control pressure through a co-operating nozzle 12 and obturator 15, in order to open a main valve 10 which then communicates the inlet 9 with an outlet 16. The input goes through an annular passage 32 and a restriction 11 to the interior of the main valve member 30, and thence to the nozzle 12 which is positioned to be engaged by the obturator as the latter is carried on a rotatable disc 1. On obturation, the main valve is moved to the right to connect the inlet and outlet through ports 31, 35 and the annular passage 32. In the rest position shown, the outlet is exhausted to atmosphere through an annular passage 37 and an exhaust port 36. The disc is driven by a spring 26 tensioned by the return movement under a spring 5 and is geared through a timing train 29 to a balance wheel 25. The nozzle is carried on a sector 21 adjustable by a knob 23. An indicator 38, 39 shows the disc position.
