Abstract

1,198,496. Valves. EMIL PLEIGER K.G. 10 Nov., 1967 [4 April, 1967], No. 51275/67. Heading F2V. [Also in Division F1] A device, Fig. 2, for remotely controlling fluid pressure apparatus comprises a casing 1 having a single inlet 16 selectively feeding at least two outlets 17a, 18a leading to the apparatus, each outlet being normally closed by an individual ball valve 25 displaceable to an open position against a spring 21 by depressing a plunger 14 having a press button 30. When the ball valves 25 are in their closed positions the inlet 16 is closed whereas the outlets 17a, 18a are connected by cross-bores in a cylindrical casing 23 to an exhaust pipe 29. Each plunger 14 has a conical end 10 which variably throttles fluid passing to its outlet in dependence on the plunger's axial displacement. The outlets 17a, 18a may control the remote apparatus directly or indirectly by providing pilot signals to main valves 39, 40, Fig. 4. The main valves 39, 40 receive fluid through a branch conduit 53 which fluid normally holds valve member 43, 44 closed against seats 45, 46. In the closed positions, connections 49, 50, leading e.g. to opposite sides of a reversible motor, are exhausted through vents 51, 52. When the outlet 17a is pressurized, the valve 39 moves to close vent 51 and the member 43 moves off its seat 45 thereby pressurizing connection 49 from the branch 53. The valve 40 operates in an identical manner.
