Abstract

1,120,386. Refrigerators. GENERAL MOTORS CORP. 6 April, 1966 [23 April, 1965], No. 15313/66. Heading F4H. A refrigerator door comprises side pieces 24, 44 which interfit with top and bottom crosspieces, said top, bottom and side pieces being formed with grooves for receiving the edges of an outer door panel 62. The top and bottom pieces (Fig. 2, not shown) have grooves (54) for receiving the upper and lower edges of panel 62 and are formed with grooves (40, 50) and shoulders (30, 48) which respectively receive and abut the edges of the side pieces. The latter have grooves 58, 60 which receive the side edges of panel 62, and side-piece 24 is shaped to provide a hand-grip extending the length of the door. An inner panel 90 is secured to the side, top and bottom pieces by screws 84 and the space between the panels is filled with foamed polyurethane.
