Abstract

1,114,318. Timing ignition. SOC. ANON. ANDRE CITROEN. Aug.4, 1965 [Aug. 7, 1964], No.33432/65. Heading F1B. Ignition is further advanced when the engine is idling with the throttle-valve 2 fully closed over the initial setting of ignition timing provided by the conventional vacuum ignition timing control means. During idling the slide-valve 6 is displaced upwardly and brings the pipe 4 into communication with the pipe 7 leading to the ignition distributer. This advances the ignition. When the throttle is opened the slide-valve 6 falls and brings the pipe 3 into communication with the pipe 7. The ignition advance is then controlled in an orthodox manner. In a modification the slide valve is replaced by two non-return valves.
