Abstract
960,110. Charge pumps for I.C. engines. DAVID BROWN TRACTORS Ltd. Feb. 26, 1962 [March 1,1961], No.7415/61. Heading F1B. The turbine of an exhaust driven turbosupercharger 10 is provided with a by-pass 27 controlled by a manually operated flap valve 26 and arranged as shown in the drawings. Separate pairs of cylinders exhaust into manifolds 19, 27, with ports 15, 16, leading into the turbine casing which has an outlet port 23 connected to the exhaust pipe 24. The chambers 19, 22, are connected to the chamber 24 through by-pass ports 27, 28, the control flap 26 of which is loosely pivoted on a lever arm 29 carried by a spindle 30.
