Cylinders, arrangement and shape of ports of.- The air-admission ports which are uncovered by the piston towards the end of the out-stroke and inclined upwards towards the head of the cylinder are shaped so as to be of stream line formation. They may be directed so that the streams of air converge; they may be arranged at two different levels E<1>, E<2>, and controlled by a valve F so that air may continue to enter the cylinder after the exhaust ports D are closed.
