Abstract

April R, 1918 Cylinders, cooling.-The portion F of the water jacket containing the air and exhaust ports G, D respectively is cast integral with the cylinder A. The upper part of the jacket is flexibly connected as by a rubber ring or 'band T with either the belt F or cylinder head. A similar ring is placed between the belt F and a split ring N closing the lower end of the jacket. For the reception of an igniter, oil sprayer, or valve, a lateral projection X may be cast adjacent to the combustion chamber, the opening in the jacket being closed by a connecting-piece Y.
