Abstract
1,109,752. Endless conveyers. D. FAIRCLOUGH, and R. P. WILLIAMS. 2 Oct., 1964 [11 Sept., 1963], No. 40349/64. Heading B8A. Malt 175 is treated on upper and lower runs successively of an endless conveyer. The latter comprises trays 102, each of which comprises a series of polypropylene laminar members 103 mounted on members 117, 118 secured by bolts 119 to solid end members 116, 116. Each tray is pivotally mounted between parallel, horizontal, spaced chains 125, 126 so as to hang in a vertical position. Normally, however, each tray is supported in a horizontal position by extended portions of the flanges 152, 153 (Fig. 3) which support the chains 125, 126. The malt is confined between side members 162, 163. In operation, malt is fed from a shoot 173 on to the trays. As the latter reach the other end of the conveyer they drop to a vertical position so as to discharge the malt on to the trays of the lower run. At the other end of this run the trays again drop to discharge the malt on to the upper run of a second similar conveyer.
