Abstract

The invention comprises tetrakisazodyestuffs of the general formula K3-N=N-K1-N=N-D-N=N-K2-N=N-K4 wherein D is a residue of a tetrazotized 4,41-diaminodiphenylamine sulphonic acid which may be further substituted in the phenyl nuclei; K1 is a residue of a coupled and subsequently diazotized 1-amino-napthalene sulphonic acid coupled at the originally unsubstituted 4-position and optionally substituted ortho to the amino group, K2 is a residue K1 or a residue of a coupled and subsequently diazotized amino-hydroxy-naphthalene sulphonic acid and K3 and K4 are 1,3-diaminobenzenes which may be further substituted in the nucleus or the amino group. They are prepared by coupling a tetrazotized diaminodiphenylamine with 2 moles of aminonaphthalene sulphonic acid or 1 mole thereof and 1 mole of an aminohydroxy-naphthalene sulphonic acid and finally coupling the dye obtained with 2 moles of the same or different 1,3-diaminobenzenes. The dyes give blue-black shades on cotton, viscose rayon, leather, and polyamides.
