Abstract

1428325 Trisazo dyestuffs HOECHST AG 6 Feb 1974 [6 Feb 1973] 05487/74 Heading C4P Novel trisazo dyestuffs of formula (where K is the radical of a naphthol mono- or poly-sulphonic acid containing no further substituents; X is H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, alkylsulphonyl, carboxylic acid or sulphonic acid; D is an optionally substituted phenyl or naphthyl radical) are prepared by acid coupling a diazotized nitroaniline with a 1-amino-8-naphtholdisulphonic acid followed by coupling the monazo compound in an alkaline medium with a diazotized amine of formula the nitro bis-azo compound is then reduced to the amino compound, which is diazotized and coupled with a naphtholsulphonic acid. The dyes are used for colouring natural or synthetic fibres also leather, particularly furs.
