Abstract
1,258,729. Diazo dyes. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 25 Nov., 1970 [28 Nov., 1969], No. 56085/70. Heading C4P. Disazo dyestuffs, free from sulphonic and carboxylic acid groups have the general formula wherein R is an optionally substituted alkyl radical. The alkyl radical R preferably contains 1-4 carbon atoms optionally substituted by alkoxy with 1-4 carbon atoms, alkoxycarbonyl with 2-5 carbon atoms, nitrile, hydroxyl or halogen atoms. The dyes are obtained by diazotizing an aminoazo compound of formula and coupling with a naphthylamine of formula The starting aminoazo compound is obtained by coupling diazotized 6 amino 1,3-benzodioxane with 1-amino naphthalene. The dyes give blue-violet shades on hydrophobic fibre materials.
