Abstract

1322704 Disazo dyes IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 9 July 1970 [17 July 1969] 36095/69 Heading C4P The invention comprises disazo dyes having the general formula wherein the substituted amide group in ring A is in the meta or para position to the azo group; R 1 represents an alkyl or aryl radical or a group of the formula -NHR 3 or -OB 4 in which R 3 is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl and R 4 is alkyl or aryl; and R 2 is hydrogen or an alkyl radical. The dyes are prepared conventionally by diazotization and coupling, and give navy blue shades on synthetic polyamide textile materials.
