Abstract

1,104,302. Drawing. O. BIGINELLI. 5 Nov., 1965 [1 Dec., 1964], No. 47107/65. Heading B3P. An apparatus for drawing tube and separating the work from the mandrel comprises a piston 5 over which is fitted a tube blank 2, as shown at the left of the Figure. A spigot 1 which has collars 1 1 and 1 2 , is inserted into the blank, the smaller end 1 1 projecting through a hole in the base of the blank. The blank is pushed through the die 6 by the piston and at the end of the working stroke the end 1 1 passes through an aperture in a plate 4. A forked element 3 is placed over the spigot which holds the tube while the piston is withdrawn. There is an air-hole 1 3 through the spigot.
