Abstract

Apparatus for bulging tubular work 5 comprises a die 8, 9, Fig. 1, with a fluid supply hole 7 at one end and closed at the other, and annular elements 14, 15 slidable within the die, the elements having openings 10, 11 for the fluid, opposing cavity-faces 12, 13 and also inner recesses 18, 19 to receive the work, which is thus subjected to axial compression by the slidable elements as it is bulged. The die 8, 9 is divided along its diameter and may contain lining members 16, 17. As applied to corrugating, Fig. 3, additional, divided sliding elements 25 are included in the die.
