Abstract

1.104.300. Road sweepers. OKAMURA MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. 14 Nov., 1966, No. 50988/66. Heading E1G. [Also in Division A4] A sweeper comprising a dust collector 2, wheels 4 and a rotatable brush 5 is provided with an arm 8 which at one end carries a rotatable brush 7 and which at the other end is pivotally supported by a journal 9, the arm 8 being rotatably positionable by a nut and bolt arrangement which on adjustment adjusts the position of the brush 7 with respect to the floor. The nut and bolt arrngement comprises a nut member 10, Fig. 4, which is rotatably mounted on the arm 8 as by a snap ring 12 which fits into a groove 13 of the member and a bolt member 21 which is engaged between head 22 and snap ring 24 by a member 15 rotatably mounted on a portion of the sweeper and which co-operates with a threaded portion 14 of the nut member 10. The bolt member 21 is provided with a knob 23 which facilitates manual adjustment of the bolt member. The brush 7 is drivably connected to the wheels 4 by a belt (26) (Fig. 3, not shown) and the sweepers may be manually or power operated.
