993,976. Edge trimmers. A. J. TATTERSALL. Feb. 26, 1962 [Aug. 18, 1961], No. 29818/61. Heading A1F. An edge trimmer of the kind comprising a wheel 7 mounted at the lower end of a handle 24, a rotary cutter 9 fixed concentrically with the wheel and a ledger blade 11 mounted on the handle to co-operate with the cutter and for maintenance in guiding engagement with the edge of the turf is characterized in that the cutter 9 is of circular profile and the blade 11 makes an angle of not more than 15 degrees with the cutter 9. The blade 11 and cutter 9 are pressed into contact by spring 15. The wheel 7 may be driven through chain gearing by an I.C. engine mounted on the body 5 of the trimmer.
