Abstract
1,239,357. Potentiometers. STACKPOLE CARBON CO. 10 Feb., 1970 [17 Feb., 1969], No. 6276/70. Heading H1S. A linear slide potentiometer with means for manual coarse adjustment and for fine adjustment by a lead screw 16 by disengaging or engaging respectively a partial nut 20 with the lead screw by means of a lever 24 connected to nut 20 and elastically attached to fixed portion of the slide 3. Parallel spaced resistor (7, Fig. 3, not shown) and collector (6) elements mounted lengthwise in the case are engaged in electrical contact by a bridging contact 11, 12, 13 attached to the slide. Rotation of screw 16 at the limit of travel of the slide causes the partial nut to be moved by the rotating screw threads preventing damage.
