Abstract

846,853. Rotary-scythe mowers. NAVEAU, M. May 12, 1959 [May 27, 1958], No. 16179/59. Class 6(3). An electric rotary-scythe mower has a rotor comprising an upwardly-dished disc 18 mounted on the lower end of the vertical shaft 9 of the motor 7, the blades 17 being detachably and pivotally secured to the periphery of the disc. The blades are carried by pins 19 secured to a flexible diametral strip 21, the pins entering into holes 25 in the disc to retain the blades. The mower-frame 2 is carried on a pair of skids 3 having a slot and bolt connection 6 with the frame to permit adjustment of cutting-height, a parallel pair of auxiliary skids 23, Fig. 3, being detachably mountable on the frame between the main skids for cutting edges. The adjustable handle 1 is hollow, to house the cable 26, and carries a switch 26.
