Abstract

884,172. Rotary-scythe mowers. HAYTERS Ltd. April 24, 1959 [Nov. 26, 1958], No. 38122/58. Class 6(3). A rotary-scythe mower comprises a headplate 1 rotatable with a vertical shaft 11, the plate having downwardly-stepped peripheral portions 1b on which blades 5 are pivoted so as to be rotatable through 360 degrees without contacting one another, the blades consisting of elongated bars with sharpened lateral edges. The plate 1 is square, the corners being downwardly-stepped and reinforced by members 8. The head-plate is secured by rivets 9 to a flange 10 on the bottom of the tubular shaft 11 which is mounted in a casing 13 and driven by a beltpulley 14.
