Abstract

1,097,767. Limestone kilns. INDUSTRIAL PLANT (COMBUSTION) Ltd. May 11, 1966, No. 20860/66. Addition to 923,813. Heading F4B. In the process of calcining limestone disclosed in Specification 923,813, compressed air and water supplied by lines 5 and 6 respectively and fuel oil supplied by line 8 are led to the atomizer 7 of gasifier 4, the resultant mixture of superheater steam and combustible gas being introduced into the shaft kiln via duct 3 and ports 11. The gaseous mixture meets preheated air issuing from chamber 2 in which charge material is cooled. Some of the gaseous mixture may be directed through Venturies 12 to ports 13 at a higher level.
