Abstract
1,095,053. Dampers for stoves. CHATELAINE Ltd. July 18, 1966 [July 17, 1965], No. 30481/65. Heading F4W. A heating appliance, burning solid fuel, has a body 1 formed with a port for passage of combustion air and a bracket 3 on which an ash door 4 is pivoted so as to co-operate with the port to vary the effective area thereof. The ash door 4 presents a guideway 5 in the form of a T-bar projecting downwardly from the door, and is furnished with an operating handle 6 in the form of a slider movable along the guideway 5 disposed across the front of the door. The body 1 has a cam 7 having a face inclined with respect to the face of the projecting portion 2, said cam 7 being engageable by the slider 6 so that movement of the handle alters the position of the door with respect to the port. The cam 7 is formed with a portion 7A having a smaller angle of inclination than the main portion of the cam, a shoulder 7B connecting the portions 7 and 7A. The degree of movement of the slider can be seen by a scale on the front of the ash door.
