109,259. Siemens - Schuckertwerke Ges. Aug. 25, 1916, [Convention date]. Limbs, artificial.-An urtificial arm for amputation below the elbow, to enable heavy manual work to be performed, has a ring-joint 7, 8 to which is pivoted the lower arm portion. The ring carries ears 8<1>, 8<11> to which are adjustably pivoted rods 10', 10, these arms are connected at their ends 11 and are provided with an extension pin 12, on which the sockets 12 of hooks or other implements are secured by set-screws or spring buttons 12<1>. The ring-joint 7, 8 is connected by rods 6 to a shoulder ring-joint 4, 5, carried by a shoulder-piece 1 and strapped to the body. A band 16 connects the rods 10, 10<1> to the forearm stump 15. To give adjustments for different lengths of arms, the rods 10, 6 may be telescopic.
