Abstract

1,080,766. Snow ploughs. TORO MANUFACTURING CORPORATION. April 27, 25, 1964 [Aug. 29, 1963], No. 34808/64. Heading E2B. A snow plough comprises a linear impeller 30 mounted between side walls 12, 13 and discharging against a rear wall 11 the upper part of which has a plurality of adjustable vanes 90 determining the discharge direction of the snow. The impeller has a shaft fanned with ridges which cooperate with ridges on flexible blades 32, 33 to provide for near adjustment of the thickened blade tips. The housing 11, 12, 13 is supported on wheels 18 and carries an I.C. engine driving the impeller by a chain. Dual handles allow use as a shovel or propulsion on the ground. The vanes 90 are rigid with the wall 11 at their lower ends and are pivotted to a sliding plate 94 at their upper ends, the plate 94 being adjustable by pin and slot means to change the direction of discharge. The majority of the components are of linear polythene to reduce weight.
