Abstract
1,075,297. Valve and transistor amplifying circuits. LOSENHAUSENWERK DUSSELDORFER MASCHINENBAU A.G. Nov. 10, 1964, No. 45720/64. Headings H3T and H3W. In an amplifier for following a pick-up device 1 of high impedance, e.g. comprising reactance 3 shunted by high resistance 4, the input impedance is increased by means of both positive and negative feedback. In each case the feedback is derived from a separate potentiometer 15 or 16 across the output of the amplifier, the positive feedback being applied to the grid directly and the negative feedback to a resistor 8 in the cathode circuit, to which the grid leak 7 is returned. According to the invention the positive and negative feedback are adjusted to near but slightly less than equality. Any remaining lack of constancy of response with frequency may be corrected by means of a suitable RC potentiometer network (Fig. 2, not shown) connected to the amplifier output: alternatively a valve with a frequency-compensating RC network as its anode load may follow the amplifier (Fig. 3, not shown). It is stated in the Specification that transistors may be employed instead of valves.
