Abstract
1,074,172. Spray burners. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. June 13, 1966 [March 26, 1965], No. 12871/65. Heading F4T. A duplex fuel spray nozzle having primary and main fuel passages defined by a body part includes a tubular casing 10 in which is secured a nose member 14 with discharge orifice 15, a sleeve 16 screwed to the member 14, a chamber defining means comprising a hollow frustoconical part 21, a cylindrical part 22 and an outer ring-like part 23, an inner tubular member 28 engaging the sleeve 16 and an end cap to hold the parts in place. The main fuel stream passes via an inlet 32 and radial holes 13, between casing 10 and tubular member 28 and through inclined holes 25 in part 23 to orifice 15 and the primary stream passes through members 28, 16, and through inclined holes 24 in part 22, which impart a swirling motion to the fuel, to the orifice 15.
