Abstract

1,072,596. Photographic processing apparatus. O. A. GUINAU. Aug.20, 1965 [Aug. 26, 1964], No. 35758/65. Heading G2A. A photographic light sensitive sheet to be treated (developed or fixed) is fed by an inlet 5 between a rotating cylinder 3 and rotatable rollers 7 of smaller diameter than the cylinder which act as guides for the sheet in its path to an outlet 6, where it is fed between rollers 28, 29 one of which dips in a liquid bath 30. The rollers 7 are connected by linkage 8 at each end of the cylinder the rollers being displaceable relative to the cylinder and being pressed against the cylinder by means of adjustably tensioned members 9-14. The tension may be released and the cylinder and rollers removed from the tank 1 for cleaning. The tank is surrounded by a jacket 2 containing a thermostatically controlled liquid which keeps the processing liquid in the tank 1 at constant temperature. The processing liquid is continuously renewed by means of a pump (not shown) supplying fresh liquid to the tank. Two or more tanks may be arranged in series to effect successive treatments. In another embodiment Fig. 5 (not shown) the linkage 8 is dispersed with, the rollers 7 being positioned by driven endless belts (37). Alternatively, Figs. 6, 7 (not shown) the roller shafts may be adjustably mounted in the sides of the tank.
