Abstract

1,066,194. Hot water supply systems. ECONOMIC PRESSWORK Ltd. Nov. 1, 1963 [Nov. 19, 1962], No. 43731/62. Heading F4A. In a hot water supply and circulating system cold make-up water is fed from a cold water storage tank (11) to an underlying hot water tank (3) through a non-return valve, the hot water tank itself feeding a heat exchanger (7) in a domestic supply tank (2) between the hot and cold tanks. A feed pipe (14) extending between the tanks (11, 3) has a U-bend the arm of which adjacent the hot tank accommodates the valve. Tanks (2, 3) are formed by the division of cylindrical tank (1) by a heat conducting partition (4). The hot tank (3) is connected to a back boiler through pipes (5, 6) and is connected in a cold circuit central heating system. If hot water is lost from the closed circuit, passage of cold water is allowed through pipe (14) as ball (18) of the non-return valve is displaced from its seating by the pressure change. Pipe (13) supplies cold water to domestic supply tank (2). Pipes (19, 22) are air vents.
