In a domestic hot-water supply system, the main and auxiliary cold-water feed tanks, 14, 15 and the hot-water storage tank 13, which is heated by a calorifier 17 connected by flow and return pipes 18, 19 to a boiler, are combined as a unit. The main cold-water tank 14 receives cold water from the float-controlled valve 16 and supplies it through pipes 25, 26 to the tanks 13, 15. The tank 15 supplies cold water through a pipe 21 to the return pipe 19 from the calorifier to the boiler. Overflow pipes 22, 24 are provided. In a modification, the auxiliary cold-water tank is formed by a partition of L-shaped crosssection in the upper part of the main cold-water tank and has a separate cold-water supply from the main.
