Abstract

1,062,147. Packaging nails in strips. SIGNODE CORPORATION. Nov. 9, 1965 [Dec. 14, 1964], No. 47463/65. Heading B8C. A row of parallel full-headed nails is joined by one or more tapes (9) (Fig. 2, not shown) which engage the shanks of the nails tangentially. The nails may be staggered (Fig. 1, not shown) or arranged with the heads in a common plane (Fig. 3, not shown). Tapes may be applied at one side only, or at opposite sides, and each tape may consist of paper coated with a heatresponsive adhesive for engagement with the nails while they are hot. The row of nails may be rolled into spiral form (Fig. 5, not shown).
