Abstract

1,167,995. Sliding-clasp fasteners. OPTIHOLDING A.G. 19 June, 1967 [13 Aug., 1966], No. 28109/67. Heading E2S. The interlocking heads 3 of a coil or meander type plastics-filament fastening- element 1 of a sliding-clasp fastener are projected through gaps in the stringer tape 5, 6 and held in position by longitudinally arranged filaments, e.g. 7, welded or bonded by adhesive to the element 1, or threaded through it, or by deforming the head portions. The retaining filaments 7 may be arranged, as shown, above and below the head portions, or a single filament may be threaded through the head portions. The retaining filaments may be formed by deformation of the head portions. Preferably, a packing core 8 is placed within the element 1 to the rear of the gaps in the stringer tape.
