A radiator comprises vertical spaced apart riser tubes 3 to which gilled panels 5 are attached, said tubes being of elongated crosssection with their major dimension extending normal to the front of the radiator. The risers are formed by deforming circular tubing and the tube ends are provided with right-angled elbow bends 4, the ends of these bends remaining circular for joining to inlet and outlet pipes. The panels 5 are welded front and back to the risers and the whole is supported within a boxlike structure 7, Fig. 2 (not shown). Side plates 8 (Fig. 2) may also be provided with similar gills, and one or more pairs of gills 6 may be provided between neighbouring risers.
