Abstract

1,043,353. Gas blast switches. A. REYROLLE & CO. Ltd. May 10, 1963 [May 11, 1962], No. 18262/62. Heading H2B. The blast nozzle of a gas blast circuitbreaker is provided with a coating of arcresistant refractory material. The nozzle is of good conducting material, e.g. copper, while the coating may be insulating, e.g. a sprayed layer of alumina or zirconia, or conducting, e.g. of tungsten. Upstream and downstream arc electrodes 10, 12 are provided with sintered copper-tungsten inserts. 11, 13 in known manner.
