Abstract

1,039,128. Bottle closures. R. D. CHANCELLOR. May 3, 1965, No. 18569/65. Heading B8T. A bottle and safety closure cap combination consists of a bottle neck 7 having four slotted indentations 11 and a closure cap 13 comprising a cylindrical collar 17 and a flexible top 15 from the centre of which a rod 29 and from the edge of a sleeve 21 extend, a flexible pin 37 passing through holes 35 in the pillar and 31, 33 in the sleeve and locking into the indentations 11. For ease of assembly, slots extending down from the top of the sleeve can be used in place of the holes 31, 33. To remove the closure cap 13, axial pressure is applied to the flexible top 15 so that the rod 29 is pushed into a boss 27 with a slotted upper portion 30, thereby bending the pin 37, Fig. 5 (not shown), and disengaging its ends from the slots 11. The sleeve 21 may have a lip 23, Fig. 1 (not shown), to form a seal with the bottle neck and any number of pairs of oppositely located slots may be employed.
