Abstract

1,035,977. Change-speed gear. MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER A.G. March 31, 1964 [April 5, 1963], No. 13194/64. Heading F2D. [Also in Division D1] Hollow output shaft 37 of transmission 13 is driven from input shaft 29 at a high speed through gears 35, 36 when clutch plates 33<SP>1</SP>,34 are engaged, and at a low speed through overtaking clutch 32 and gears 31, 30 when plates 33<SP>1</SP>, 34 are disengaged. Solenoid 26 attracts plate 33<SP>1</SP>against plate 34, and is automatically de-energized when a sliver in a textile machine intercepts a light beam to a photo-cell.
