Abstract
887,551. Tractor driving gear and power take off. LINDE'S EISMASCHINEN A.G. GES. FUR. Oct. 10, 1960 [Oct. 9, 1959], No. 34614/60. Class 79(2). A tractor power-take off and power transmission arrangement comprises an engine driven shaft 2 which drives a hydraulic pump 9 through gears 7 and 8. The pump output is controlled in magnitude and direction by a lever 13 and drives a motor 10 which drives an axle 6 through shaft 11, clutch 12, shaft 3 and differential gear 5. The driven shaft 2 drives a power take off shaft through a friction clutch 14 and gears 15, 16 and 17, gear 16 being freely mounted on shaft 11 but being connectible thereto by a clutch 18. Thus, the arrangement provides a hydraulic transmission to the axle 6 with the power take off shaft driven proportionately to the engine speed (clutches 14 and 12 engaged), or by disengaging clutch 14 and engaging clutches 12 and 18, the power take off shaft speed is proportional to the tractor road speed. By engaging clutch 18 and disengaging clutches 12 and 14, the power take off shaft is driven from the motor 10. In a modification, Fig. 2, the power take off shaft 4 is driven from the engine driven shaft 2, clutch 14 and gears 23, 24 and the axle 6 is driven from the motor 10 through gears 22, 20, clutch 21, shaft 3 and differential 5. A gear 19 is axially but non-rotatably movable on shaft 4 and may be engaged with gear 20, replacing the clutch 18 of Fig. 1.
