Abstract

1,031,808. Photo-flash bulbs. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS Inc. Dec. 19, 1963 [Dec. 28, 1962], No. 50254/63. Heading G2L. A photo-flash bulb comprises a sealed lighttransmitting envelope 1 containing a combustion supporting gas filling, a quantity of filamentary annealed zirconium 3, and ignition means 11 disposed in operative relationship with the zirconium, the zirconium being characterized by crystal grains of 0.0003 ins to 0.0006 ins average diameter. A filament 5 is attached to lead-in wires 7, 8 carrying ignition means in the form of paste 11 at one end and bent to form stirrups 13 and 15 at the other end. The gas filling may be oxygen at a pressure of 440 cms Hg.
