995, 799. Magnesium and like lamps. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS Inc. Nov. 7, 1962 [Nov. 21, 1961], No. 42136/62. Heading G2L. Photoflash lamp having a transparent envelope 2, the external surface of which is coated with a polyarylcarbonate resin. The lamp 2 may contain filaments of zirconium in an atmosphere which is 95% oxygen and 5% nitrogen at a pressure of 60 cm. of mercury. The zirconium filling may consist of 18 mgs. of zirconium shreds having a crosssection of 0.9 x 1.2 mils and 25 mg. of shreds having a cross-section of 0.9 x 2.5 mils, or in another embodiment 110 mgs. of zirconium shreds having a cross-section of 0. 9 x 1.2 mils.
