Abstract

1365648 Gas discharge lamps UNITED STATES SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS Inc 17 Nov 1972 [27 Dec 1971] 53197/72 Heading H1D A flash discharge lamp is triggered by a discharge between a first auxiliary electrode 2 connected to a main electrode 1 and terminating at a point on the inside of the envelope, and a second auxiliary electrode 4 which is on the outside of the envelope but near the electrode 2 and connected to the other main electrode 3. In Fig. 2 further external electrodes 4 are provided along the length of the lamp and connected together by 4<SP>11</SP>. The lamp can be filled with xenon at 1À5 or 0À25 atmospheres.
