Abstract
993,740. Discharge lamps. CLAUDE PAZ ET VISSEAUX. April 14, 1964 [April 17, 1963], No. 15374/64. Heading H1D. A discharge lamp has a filling which includes at least one metal which is introduced in the form of a plurality of its compounds which are vaporizable at the operating temperature of the lamp. A mercury vapour lamp includes an amount of mercury, either completely or incompletely vaporized at the operating temperature, giving an operating pressure of at least half an atmosphere, together with argon at 20 mm. mercury pressure, and sodium iodide and sodium bromide. Other metals which may be introduced as a plurality of their compoundspreferably halidesare: lithium, calcium, strontium, borium, thallium, indium, cerium, and zinc.
